COVID-19
Dear Seeq Users, We are all being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. There are many closures and cancellations, including schools, events, and businesses. Of course, everyone’s health is of the highest importance. We at Seeq hope you and your families stay safe and healthy. Here is Seeq’s latest update on COVID-19 https://blog.seeq.com/blog/covid-19-update. Seeq was founded as a virtual company. We have no offices; everyone works from their homes or wherever they choose to be.…
This is the 2nd of a two part blog, make sure you see part 1 https://seeq.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/blog/2019/12/09/605159516/Seeq+Integrated+Security%2C+Part+1. Users of Seeq know an important functionality of Seeq is the ability to connect to historians such as OSIsoft PI. When we connect, we synchronize all the tag metadata to Seeq, while leaving the data in PI. We only access the data when users request it. The Seeq connector authenticates to PI with a service account.…
We have an important release of Seeq coming up shortly; the theme of of this release is "Seeq Integrated Security". This is often described as granular or item-level access control. In practice, this means Seeq administrators can now control which users and groups have access and which type of access, to the granularity of items in Seeq. Seeq Integrated Security brings the Authorization capability of Seeq on par with file systems and historians like OSIsoft PI.…
Seeq R19.0.36.03 is now available. This release has several minor improvements and fixes as well as an important bug fix. In R19.0.36.00 we introduced a bug in the OSIsoft PI Data Archive connecter. This bug periodically pulls the entire Point Database over to the Seeq Server, causing excessive PI Server, network, and Seeq server load. We discovered this after a customer reported a noticeable CPU increase in the PI Data Archive subsystem pibasess.…
We have another major release available for download and installation: R19. The software development lifecycle has to balance new features and things like performance and user experience improvements. R19 was a chance for our team to step back and address both performance and usability. On the user experience, a favorite improvement of mine involves the data tab and access to your data in general. Finding and working with data, of course,…
R18.0.35.02 is available on our download site https://download.seeq2.com/release. This is addressed an issue where the content of an Organizer Topic could be lost (issue id Crab-10840). Please upgrade to this version when you have time.
Our dev team continues to get a major release out each quarter–the latest is R18. R18 continues to develop Seeq Workbench but we also introduce Seeq Organizer. Seeq Workbench, of course, is the App used to create in-depth analyses. These analyses can quite complex and involved, but also reach important manufacturing and business insights and conclusions. Seeq Organizer is the App  to get these conclusions to a wider audience–delivered in an easily consumed format.…
We are pleased to announce the release of R17.0.34.01 and available for download. Email us at support@seeq.com for download instructions. This release addressed a few bugs and also improved support for Inductive Automation Ignition and Matlab.  R17.0.34.00 added a few features that we felt were high priority.…
We are pleased to announce that R17 is released and it's available now for download. Contact our support team (support@seeq.com) for a download link.  Key new features in R17 include: Reference Profiles. Quickly create complex profiles by aggregating several "snippets" of a signal. This is useful for creating control limits for batch process variables or conditions which vary regularly through the course of a day.  Boundaries.…
Seeq R16.0.32.01 is available. We recommend upgrading to this release ASAP–please send us an email for the download link. This release targeted a few issues: Seeq Workbench could become unresponsive when "now" is enabled. Incorrect timestamps in data via the Seeq Wonderware connector. Slow data requests after a browser refresh. Regards, Jon Peterson
R16.0.32.00 has a bug that may cause your browser to hang or become slow to respond. This occurs when you have selected the "Now" button and leave your browser open. The cause is memory leak. The dev team is addressing this and we expect to have new release available in a few days.   Closing and reopening your browser is the work around.
